The Custom Commission Process

Step 1: Submit Your Inquiry and Reference Images
Send an email to hello@handmadeoilart.com with your reference photographs, desired canvas dimensions, and any specific notes regarding color preferences or room context. If you are unsure about the ideal size, feel free to send a photo of your wall along with the furniture width, and our team will provide complimentary sizing recommendations.

Step 2: Studio Quote and Proposal
Within 24 to 48 hours, our studio will review your request and provide a clear, all inclusive quote detailing the pricing, estimated completion timeline, and framing options. We require a 50 percent deposit to begin studio work, with the remaining balance due only after you approve the completed painting.

Step 3: Master Studio Painting
Your artwork is assigned to a specialist painter whose expertise matches your chosen subject matter. Using heavy body artist grade oil paints and natural mineral pigments, the artist builds the composition through traditional underpainting, layering, and textural knife work.

Step 4: High Resolution Progress Approval
Once the painting is finished, we photograph the artwork in natural studio light and send detailed high resolution images for your review. You have the opportunity to request adjustments to color balance, lighting, or fine details. We only apply the final protective archival varnish once you are 100 percent delighted with the piece.

Step 5: Archival Curing, Framing, and Insured Delivery
After your approval, the painting cures safely before being hand framed according to your specifications. Your artwork is enclosed in a custom built protective timber crate and dispatched via insured express courier, arriving at your door ready to hang.
